A reading membership for families

Turn the book before bed into real connection.

Every week: one children's book and a companion made for the hour before bed — a short guide and video, a few questions worth asking, and one thing for your child to draw. Plus a little audio to keep you company through the week.

Not a reading program. A way to be more present in the time you already spend together.

This week's companion

The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse

by Charlie Mackesy
Ask: What's the bravest thing you've ever said out loud? The mole says it's "help." Do you think that's true?
Then draw it
The quiet idea underneath it

You're already reading to them. That part's not the question.

The question is what happens after the last page.

The conversation. What they noticed. What they'd draw.

The Reading Rhythm turns the book you'd read anyway into a doorway: into how your child thinks, what they feel, and a few minutes of real presence in a day that doesn't leave much room for it.

How the week works

Three small moves. We've already done the hardest one.

01 · READ

Open the book

We choose the book, write the guide, and record a short video walking you in — so the only thing left for you is the part you actually wanted: reading it together.

02 · TALK

Ask the questions

A few real ones, never comprehension quizzes. The kind that make a five-year-old say something you'll be repeating at dinner all week.

03 · DRAW

Let them answer in crayon

One prompt: how the book made them feel, the part they can't stop thinking about. They draw it — and you get a little window into what actually landed.

A voice in your ear

Not one more thing to do. The thing that makes the rest feel lighter.

A few short audio drops land in your feed each week — two or three minutes each. No tips to implement, no better-parent checklist. Just company for the in-between: the drive, the coffee, the ten quiet minutes before the house wakes up.

Press play, and for a couple of minutes you're reminded that connecting with your kids was never meant to be this heavy.

Each week in your feed

Three short drops

  • The week's companion, in audio. The book and the conversation, straight in your ear — no screen required.
  • A lived-in reflection. A real moment from my own week reading with my kids, and what I caught when I slowed down enough to notice it.
  • A noticing. A small nudge back toward presence — in reading, and in the rest of the ordinary day.
What we're building next

Founding members get in first — and stay at the founding price for all of it.

The Reading Rhythm starts with the weekly companions and the audio. But it's growing into a home for reading families — and everything we add folds in at your founding rate. You never pay more.

COMING

The community

A private space for reading families to share what landed on the couch — what their kids said, what the questions opened up — with me reading across it and reflecting back.

COMING

The monthly family call

A live, easy gathering for the families in the rhythm. Come for the ideas, the recommendations, and the company of other parents doing the same quiet work.

COMING

The grown-ups' book table

Once a month, we read for ourselves. A room for the reader you were before you were a parent — the novel, the one you keep meaning to start, whatever's on your nightstand.

When these open, founding members are already in — at the founding price, for good. New members will join at the standard rate.

How the price works: founding members lock in $29/month for life. Once the founding doors close, new members join at $39/month. Down the road, if you'd rather have just the weekly guides on their own, a guides-only option will open too.

Why I built this
"I read to my kids every night, two new books a day most days. And the best part was never the reading. It was what came after: the strange, funny, surprisingly deep things they'd say once a story cracked something open. The Reading Rhythm is the thing I wanted to exist: the book already chosen, the conversation already sparked, so the time we spend together actually goes somewhere."
Kerystyn, founder of The Reading Rhythm
